Early fire detection is one of the few building systems where minutes genuinely determine outcomes — both for occupant safety and for limiting property damage. A properly designed fire detection system covers smoke, heat, and (where relevant) gas detection across all floors and critical areas, wired into a central panel that can trigger alarms, notify facility staff, and — where integrated with the broader BMS — automatically shut down HVAC dampers to slow smoke spread.
